When it comes to ADA access, engineered Wood Fiber provides a very cost effective alternative to rubberized surfacing. When properly maintained, this resilient surfacing provides ADA access to the entire playground site. Wood Fiber surfacing does not compact as much as sand, and when installed to the proper depth and maintained, it provides excellent protection against falls.
The recommended compacted depth under playground equipment is 12”. Fabric over a 4”-6” bed of gravel. Provide site drains as needed.
